What is the breakdown of cost?

We offer 12 hours of tailored education for new and expecting parents following the Gottmans’ Bringing Baby Home Curriculum. The fee includes both soon-to-be parents.  Working out to a price of just 19.80 per person/ hour.​​​​​​​

 

Who is this course for?

Couples who are expecting a new baby and are dedicated to each other and their new baby. People who want to be prepared as best as they can to manage the thrills and stress of this new relationship, with each other and the baby.

Couples with an interest in how they can

  • strengthen their relationship

  •  have a positive impact on their baby

  •  build awareness of postnatal mental health

  • learn through experiential activities.

Don’t worry, there are no big group interactions. You will get the chance to try out some of the activities in the privacy of your own home with each other.

Can I claim this through insurance?

These sessions are psychoeducational and not eligible for counselling benefits but may be covered by your health/wellness spending. Check with your provider; we cannot offer direct billing.

What are the instructors' backgrounds?

Stephanie (MSW) and Audra (RCSW, Broken Gold Counseling) are Gottman-trained couples counsellors in Calgary, AB. Josee is a child psychologist in Okotoks, AB, and owner of Flutterby Psychology.

 

All three are experienced parents. We have been there and want to help you in your transition to parenthood.

Is there any research to assess whether this course may be beneficial to us?

Yes. The Bringing Baby Home (BBH) workshop is a research-based and research-tested psychoeducational workshop

Is this course 2SLGBTQIA+ friendly?

YES! All couples are welcome.

Is this course for couples becoming parents in all ways? (Foster, Adoption, Surrogate, Grandparents)
